Essiac Tea and the Cure for Cancer

Cancer used to be a very rare thing. Some like to claim that it was rare because people died from so many other illnesses before they could develop cancer. If that is the answer, then why has the rate of occurrence of childhood cancer increased as dramatically or even more dramatically than adult cancers?

The question that really bothers me is that there have been cancer cures in existence as far back as the Biblical days. These cures come from many places and many cultures. Many are found because there are certain groups of people who have significantly lower rates of cancer than others. On the other end of the spectrum is the people of the United States who have the highest rates of cancer of anywhere in the world. The exception may be the area around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. The question is, why are the medical professionals in the U.S. not trying these treatments and cures?

A example of this is a cure that was introduced by a nurse, Rene Caisse, who learned about the herbal treatment from a prospector's wife who had survived breast cancer. The recipe originally came from Ojibway Indians, Native Americans of the area and was based on 4 main herbs. These herbs were burdock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, and Indian rhubarb root ( some sources say Turkish Rhubarb root ), all of which grow wild in North America. Other recipes add ingredients such as kelp.

When she found out about the healing properties of these herbs, Caisse started treating people, using the recipe, for free. She never charged for her work. Once word spread, she was allowed to set up a clinic in Ontario and with the assistance of doctors, continued to treat patients, producing many testimonials. She did not have any clinical trials and there has not been any serious clinical trials to date. The reason for this is that Essiac Tea, no matter how powerful or effective, is not profitable to the cancer industry. In laboratory tests, Sheep Sorrel and Burdock Root have been shown to kill cancer cells.

While I am not fighting cancer, I have used Essiac as a herbal immune supporter, on and off, for many years. I would consider Essiac Tea as a good choice for stage 1,2, or 3 cancers but it is not likely strong enough for a stage 4 treatment on its own. I certainly would not hesitate adding it to whatever stage 4 protocol that I was following. I certainly think that it would be beneficial to those who are recovering from chemo-therapy or radiation treatments. Essiac Tea works slowly to help remove some of the actual causes of cancer so do not expect an overnight miracle or dramatic tumor shrinkage in short time.

Even if it does not cure cancer, Essiac Tea is beneficial because it contains many nutrients and helps to support your immune system without major side effects. So just buy Essiac Tea for its health benefits and for your happiness.

The place where I buy my Essiac Tea has been suppressed by the FTC and no longer sells Essiac as a cure but if you call them, you can get it as a herbal supplement. Their web site is and you can either e-mail or call to ask about pricing. They provide a good quality product at a good price.

This formula is a transcription of Mary McPherson's affidavit:

6 ½ cups of burdock root (cut)*

1 pound of sheep sorrel herb   powdered

1/4 pound of slippery elm bark   powdered

1 ounce of Turkish rhubarb root    powdered

Mix these ingredients thoroughly and store in glass jar in dark dry cupboard.

Take a measuring cup, use 1 ounce of herb mixture to 32 ounces of water depending on the amount you want to make.

I use 1 cup of mixture to 8 x 32 = 256 ounces of water.  Boil hard for 10 minutes (covered) then turn off heat but leave sitting on warm plate over night (covered).

In the morning heat steaming hot and let settle a few minutes, then strain through fine strainer into hot sterilized bottles and sit to cool.  Store in dark cool cupboard.  Must be refrigerated when opened.  When near the last when its thick pour in a large jar and sit in frig overnight then pour off all you [can] without sediment.

Antibiotic resistant microbes, a new approach

Due to the current over use of antibiotics, there has been a rise in the presence of antibiotic resistant microbes such as MSRA. There are also several new occurrences of previously rare illness such as flesh eating bacteria. It seems that the medical industry is in dire need of new tools to fight antibiotic resistant bacteria and other infectious microbes. Sadly, the medical industry has not been known for either its foresight nor for open-mindedness. It is better known for its stodgy resistance to change and improvement. The result of this is a serious increase in the death rate from antibiotic resistant infections.
People are dying from these infections because many doctors are afraid of doing things outside of currently accepted practice. Other doctors just refuse to believe that these alternatives could work, so they just do not try. Either way, because the alternatives are not profitable, they just are not inviting to the efforts of many health professionals. The problem is far deeper than this, however, because it goes to the core motivation of the AMA, ADA, and other medical professional organizations. These groups are existant specifically for the support and preservation of the income and status of the members of the group. Anything that may threaten the status or income is dealt with in no uncertain terms.

In other cases, the doctors just wait until it is completely too late for anything to have an effect to use an alternative. With the end result that follows taking a too late action, their response is, see it did not work either. Whenever alternatives or non-traditional measures are taken by others and success is noted, they are immediately attacked by such groups as quackwatch, which by the way has rarely if ever listed any M.D.s on its site although many are convicted yearly. This just goes to show that is in itself, pure quackery and the greatest form of hypocracy.

Among these alternatives is colloidal silver, which is a solution of silver particles in water which has strong antibacterial, anti fungal, and anti-viral properties.  Silver was used for centuries before antibiotics were discovered, but is now considered by the medical profession to be worthless? So, what is going on here? More hypocracy. Silver is a very valuable and effective antibiotic that works when other antibiotics do not work.

On occasion, in desperation, people are ignoring their doctors and resorting to old home remedies and remedies that were once considered to be quack medicines and techniques. Things such as colloidal silver are growing in popularity. Another practice that is returning is the use of poultices

One practice that has been in use for over 250 years is the use of low voltage, low current electricity. As far back as the 1750's, there have been clinics that use nothing but electricity for healing. The medical industry has in response, done everything possible to impede and defame the use of electricity for healing even though scientific studies show that many forms of electricity work as both antibiotics and immune boosters.

The same old War on Cancer, still loosing

Cancer continues to increase despite the billions of dollars being funneled into groups like the American Cancer Society which does little more than generate propaganda against alternative therapies and alternative healing. When these groups are not publishing outright misconceptions about alternative therapies such as Essiac Tea, curcumin, milk thistle, or apricot seeds, they resort to innuendos such as claiming that these are unproven or untested. If they applied the same standards and requirements against most chemotherapy, those chemotherapies would have to be immediately removed from the market. which provides the most valuable information about cancer alternatives.  A great article by Tony Isaacs
